RE: Best Laptop - Budget £1000 - mothered - 09-27-2018 Quote:not sure if I fancy the apple platform In terms of compatibility, what type of software will you be predominantly using? That Is, what platform will they be suited to? Also, will you be performing other (personal) tasks that perhaps consume resources- both now and Into the foreseeable future? The reason I'm asking, Is because It's better to go for an overkill (thus allow room for expansion If and when the need arises), rather than running out of resources should the Inevitable come to hand. RE: Best Laptop - Budget £1000 - Selinwine - 04-05-2021 You made me recall the times when I was a student. I studied business as well, almost 3 years ago. I had an ASUS, don't know any other details. But my son is enrolled for Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, and he indeed needs a more powerful computer that will run easily all kind of programs that they need at the university. So I tried to research this a little bit and this is what I found: https://thecursedcrusade.com/best-laptop-for-electrical-engineering-students/ . Now, can anyone tell me whether there is at least one good recommendation? I am clueless in all this stuff, but I need to make the right decision. I'd look at their Strix, Nitro, and Thinkpad models respectively. Warranty is a must if you're getting a refurb. Check around at various stores, oftentimes older models with superior specs are discounted in favor of newer models. RE: Best Laptop - Budget £1000 - Navlehal96 - 04-06-2021 Thanks for this information guys RE: Best Laptop - Budget £1000 - d4ggm4sk - 04-08-2021 MSI tends to have pretty good gaming laptops, if youre looking for that. Otherwise, stick to acer.

I still have a unit around 15 years old, and It's maintained full functionality. |
