Heat in the Northeast has taken at least six lives, health officials say. Five have died in Maryland over the course of the summer of heat-related causes; one man died last week in New York.
A heat wave has been hanging over the northeast and the Midwest since early this week, driving up the heat index over 100 degrees in many places.
Extreme heat can be a major cause of death, and health officials warn that the elderly, children and people with cardiovascular conditions stay cool and drink plenty of water.Anybody else feeling the heat? I've been inside for the majority of the summer, so I haven't felt that much. Summers not even close to ending either.

My girlfriends friends dad just died a week or two ago from having a heat stroke. Fell asleep in a launch chair outside and never woke up. This summer has been brutal.

Here in The Netherlands the heat is not normal, I can barely sleep at night. It's like I'm sitting in a sauna.

It has been raining a shitload where I've been. But recently it has heated up. Been playing baseball and it was brutal. Hitting a single and feeling like I just ran the bases twice.

Haven't been raining in weeks, which I normally don't mind but jesus its hot. My poor computer has had to wark harder than ever befroe, and there is no way to get cold in my room. Not even using a fan. Whelp me please!

If I didn't have an air-conditioner, my machine would have already overheated.
