Pearl Abyss (Black Desert Online) Acquires CCP Games (Eve Online) - Oni - 09-06-2018 As someone who's played both Eve Online and Black Desert Online for years, I'm slightly concerned about the implications of the acquisition. I do foresee that CCP will halt its VR development, which may mean more content for Eve. Hopefully Pearl Abyss takes a hands-off approach and respects the way Eve has functioned the past decade or so. Not exactly surprised this happened, as CCP was taking funds from investors. Quote:Eve Online maker CCP Games, Iceland’s biggest game studio, has agreed to be acquired by Black Desert Online creator Pearl Abyss of South Korea for $425 million. Eve VR development sounds out of this world. I hope this doesn't turn things sour for Eve and it becomes an opportunity rather than a downfall. |
