Needing new build - Byakuya Kuchiki - 08-23-2018

Hi guys,

I've got around £1000 for a new gaming pc.
Been also thinking of buying amazon gift cards or something and buying one of amazon with slightly more specs.

That's my budget I'm looking for a good gaming build but can also support 2 screens. I'm not sure on using the pc for mining though I've never done that before

Well, first: building a PC yourself is always cheaper than getting a pre-built, because you don't have to pay the seller on amazon who want's his profit and the person who put the pc together and wants his pay.
And it is really not a hard thing to do unless you want some fancy custom watercooling setup (which i did, was hard to put together, not recommended for a beginner lmao).

Mining with your PC (your "personal" computer) is also not recommended, not up-to-date with all the mining stuff but i'm not sure if you can even get any profit anymore.

Please clarify, what do you want to do with it, which games do you wanna play, do you already have the 2 screens or do you need to buy them as well...?

Sound advice.

Given you're after a gaming PC, the graphics card Is (obviously) of utmost Importance so as mentioned above, the nature of the games will determine the suitability of the GPU. My laptop chews anything I throw at It, but that's a different story altogether and not part of this thread's equation.

I like to play mmorph and rpg games like dark souls ect. I also enjoy playing league of legends sometimes.

I was thinking nvidea g1060 3 gb might be suffient but I'm not entirely sure.

Right now I did have a spare monitor however it's come to my attention that the new graphic cards don't accept the typical vga wire anymore and it's done by hdmi so that's quite disappointing so will now be needing 2 new monitors

Mining is a waste of time. The amount of time required to break even on your investment of the hardware will take 6 months at least, and that's not even counting the electrical costs.
Its also hard on your hardware.

Yea I don't think I'll be mining, mostly gaming though so just looking for a decent build enough to run games smoothly without lag

I can try and spec something out for you if you would like.

Yes please, I'm not 100% sure of the new stuff that came out as my last build was back in 2012 and I've not been keeping up to date on the latest technology aha

The GTX 1060 (3GB) will easily handle the above games.

I recommend opting for the "6GB" GTX 1060. It may be somewhat of an overkill for your usage now, but It's always good practice to accommodate for future needs and developments.

If you want a build that would last a couple years go for the 6g version
Im rocking one and it handles pretty much everything in max settings in 1080p

Since you have a 1k to spend i recommend the build i have
MSI B350M Mortar.
AMD Ryzen 5 1400.
Corsair Vengeance LPX (2 x 4 GB, DDR4, 3200 MHz, C16), minimum 8g more is welcome.
Corsair VS550, but any 500w power suply is enough.
WD Blue 1T, if you want ssd defenatly go for a nvme based like Samsung 960 EVO.
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 G1 Gaming 6G.
