Just had frozen fish sashimi - DragonicRek - 07-28-2018 It was delicious. As the title states, I purchased some frozen salmon from the local grocery store, let it thaw for 24 hours in the fridge, and ate it with soy sauce and wasabi. It was delicious. Tasted just like the fancy sushi restaurants. Fun fact: In the US, it is illegal to serve raw fish which wasn't previously frozen. This is because raw fish can contain parasites, and freezing the fish kills off the parasites RE: Just had frozen fish sashimi - Jiggly - 07-28-2018 Well, I learned a thing from this post. I gotta say, I haven't tried as much Japanese/Japanese influenced food as I'd like. the states appears to be really into it (though there are foods from so many cultures there). You should try it too! *only if the fish is safe there ofc RE: Just had frozen fish sashimi - mothered - 07-28-2018 I'd say the soy sauce gave It the flavor It needed to be consumed raw. Although I no longer have It, I loved soy sauce on fried rice mixed with a bit of garlic. RE: Just had frozen fish sashimi - KuhakuWolf - 07-28-2018 Where i live we have a few restaurants that serve like sushi, sashimi and similar Love to go to that place, pay 10 bucks and eat all that you want RE: Just had frozen fish sashimi - Jiggly - 07-28-2018 (07-28-2018, 10:10 AM)GosuSang Wrote:(07-28-2018, 09:17 AM)Jiggly Wrote: Well, I learned a thing from this post. I more of a cod and shrimp/prawns at most kind of fish eater. Not really interested in fish otherwise. I like other stuff with veggies though. However, I cannot handle seafood altogether, with the exception of tuna mixed with chilli. I know a lot of people who aren't fans of seafood for all sorts of reasons (preference to medical). Although, I've never even conceived of tuna with chilli... I've never had it with anything other than tomato based sauces or mayo. xD RE: Just had frozen fish sashimi - Oni - 08-03-2018 Can't eat raw meat. Would puke guaranteed. RE: Just had frozen fish sashimi - M00N66 - 08-04-2018 I love sushi. It's an acquired taste however. |
