Wow very nice tutorial! I'm wondering, so if I put it in my forum sig and someone sees my forum sig do I have their ip or do they have to click somewhere for me to get it?

No, all they have to do is load the image and the ip and everything will be logged. If the image is looaded in your signature then you will have there ip. I also have proxy ip header tags logged but have not added to the log list.

I don't really get the point in IP from image, like, how are you going to know who is who? I'm not bagging on this video, I'm questioning the concept as a whole. There's got to be more identification than just IP/User Agent?

It is quite simple really. If you want someone specific just send the image to them threw pm or email. The likely hood of them not allowing images is low and is a hole lot less suspitous than having them click a link. Other wise you could use it just as a general perpus thing, just for fun and to know about users.

But if you're planning to use it on a wide-spread sort of thing, you have no details of who is who.

Well in a way that is not true, the reason i added the http refer was so you will know what website the image was loaded from.

Yes, but if you posted that image in this thread and 20 users loaded the thread, it would log all 20 users, and it would show all of the same referrer.

True, but if that is what you do to post the image then what exactly would you want. It seams to me that you would gey exactly wjat you wanted. However, if you wanted something from a specific user than direct the image to that user. If you are wondering how this can be useful than you would have to ask the same question about all of the ip grabing services but most of the services require you to ckick a link. It is just how you use the service.

I know, lol. I'm not talking about the efficiency of hiding it as an image. What I'm trying to think of is how you can do something on a mass-level. And know who the people are. Not a personal level.
