Facebook Page In Deceased Girl's Honor Hacked - mothered - 05-06-2018

Greetings everyone,

I was quite emotional when I Initially read this article.
In terms of hacking, this Is probably one of the lowest acts of cruelty I've come across. If I had knowledge of those responsible, have no Illusions, they'd be stripped of their Identity and every relative data on a personal level.

No further comment.

Quote:Her daughter died of cancer. Now, the young girl's legacy may be lost as well, with hackers to blame.

Young Kyssi Andrews' Facebook page had 365,000 supporters. On it, Marla Jones documented every high and low her daughter endured while battling cancer. Recently, computer hackers attacked the page. Now, it and years of what Jones has documented are gone.

At just three years old, Kyssi Andews was diagnosed with a form of kidney cancer. For the next three years, Kyssi's mother marked her daughter's every move, posting every picture and every video on the Kyssi Andrews Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Facebook page.

The hackers began posting inappropriate images. Now, the page, dedicated to her deceased six-year-old daughter, is gone. Yet another blow for this mother in mourning since her daughter went to heaven.

I don't understand why someone would do such a thing. What was the hacker's motive?

Probably without motive, perhaps with the Intention to prove a point that they can penetrate the account's security. Either that, or animosity towards the mother.

Appalling to say the least.

People are cruel. Pages like that are known to be targets. Judgeing from the article, she logged everything there... dont put all your eggs in one basket, so if shit does go down, you have backups.

Precisely.

This has clearly demonstrated the risks and Insecurities of storing/sharing data online. It's good practice to keep local (redundant) backups- you know where your data Is held, and who has access.

Wow but why. What gain do you get?
That's horrible.

I really hope that Facebook can actually do something to help as unlikely as it is - I do hope.

Thoughts out for the family x

Not only for sentimentality by Facebook, but also for criminal apprehension.

If caught, I do hope they're behind bars for a very long time.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't even call them hackers, it's just sad if you do something like that. There are millions of Facebook pages that are way more interesting to "hack", and then they choose a page like this. He/she should be arrested in my opinion.
