Don't allow URL's in the title - Bish0pQ - 03-21-2018 Hello everyone, So I'm pretty sure everyone that is active here has seen a thread like this pop-up: Spoiler:![]() Now I've seen tons of these threads and reported them all, but I just thought that it would be easy to just disallow URL's in the title field, since they ALL put a URL in the title field. Now, maybe this could be extended by allowing it for members that are bronze or have > 10 posts or whatever but I think this would greatly lower the burdain on staff and it would keep the forum a little bit more clean. What are your opinions about this? RE: Don't allow URL's in the title - mothered - 03-21-2018 I'm all for this. I keep having to deal with spam on a daily basis, one as recent as an hour ago. Unless I sift through all logs, I couldn't put a figure on the number of bans I've hit. I can imagine, I see SPAM like this AT LEAST 2 times a day, and you mods already have your hands full with moving threads and checking content... So this should be something that could easily lower the burdain on you guys. RE: Don't allow URL's in the title - mothered - 03-25-2018 Keyword filtering will also help. Without going Into specifics, some bots/spam tend to use profane terms that are not usually posted by members of this board. RE: Don't allow URL's in the title - hacxx - 03-25-2018 Yes i agree. Using a pattern to block that kind of spam will be a time saver. Currently Sinisterly is the most clean forum i have ever seen dedicated to digital content, hacking/coding without spamming threads to carding or magic pills. |
