[BUG] Posts being truncated when editing or previewing - phyrrus9 - 03-17-2018

So, when I was writing Dynamically Resizing Arrays of Strings, I noticed something odd. I had written the entire thread, and hit preview. Everything looked fine, but then when I went to hit the post button I noticed something strange, the editor wasn't showing the right source for the post. When I hit preview again, I noticed that half of the post was gone. Now, thankfully I still had an old preview tab open and I was able to copy the text and redo the bbcode for the missing half and post it. What I noticed though, is if I were to hit preview, save it as a draft, or in any way try to edit my changes after posting, it would do the same thing and truncate the post.

To help diagnosing this bug, I put the bbcode source of that thread in a pastebin, here's how you recreate the bug:
  1. Pick any forum, and hit new post
  2. Paste the bbcode into the box
  3. Hit preview
  4. Hit preview
Notice now how the post is only half as long? Yeah I did as well. It's not like I hit the max post size either, because I was able to post the thread (by not using the preview), but even trying to edit that thread produces the same result. Perhaps this is a POST limitation on the editor?

I've just tried It and It's definitely the case on my end- truncated quite significantly.

We'll see what Oni has to say.

Yeah I thought it was weird, I've certainly made longer threads without a problem, maybe this is some type of validation failure?

I just can't see exactly why It'll fail to validate.
