Lockpicking and Locksport - Inori - 03-09-2018 Is anyone else around here into picking, locksport, or modding, or is anybody interested in learning? I was into it casually for a month or two but I've recently gotten pretty serious. In terms of picking difficulty I have a handful of apprentice-level locks and one intermediate German import (all of which I've gotten into), with another intermediate and harder German import on the way. I've also taught myself how to gut cylinders (with a carrot of all things, which I made a photoset tutorial for), so I'd love to share some knowledge if there's any interest. RE: Lockpicking and Locksport - Bish0pQ - 03-09-2018 I've always been interested in these kind of things. Lockpicking is something I loved to practice though it has been some time. I have opened some locks before, they were all quite easy though. Would be interested in talking about this. What locks did you crack? Also are you using a lockpicking set (not the automatic ones) or just a regular pin? RE: Lockpicking and Locksport - Inori - 03-09-2018 (03-09-2018, 03:33 PM)Bish0pQ Wrote: What locks did you crack? The Master 150D and BKS Helius are the ones I recently purchased and don't have yet, hence the lack of progress. My entire kit is from Sparrows because I'm currently using the Special Forces edition of their Sentry pick set (link). It's a bit overkill but works like a charm. I'm looking to expand soon (mostly more stuff from Sparrows) but I don't need much else for just picking. RE: Lockpicking and Locksport - Blink - 03-09-2018 I've been slightly interested in this, I tried it once and I get the general gist of it. However, I'm not great at it, and I lost all my picks. Might get back into it eventually. RE: Lockpicking and Locksport - FreightTrain - 03-09-2018 There was a time, about 5-6 years ago, that I was really interested in learning to pick locks. After reading more into it, I decided against it because I'd likely just get myself into trouble. I looked over your tutorial with the carrot though, pretty cool and creative.
RE: Lockpicking and Locksport - Skullmeat - 03-09-2018 I have a set of lock-picks, but I suck at using them. I've never got around to experimenting with locks though. I'd be very Interested to see the methods Defcon use at their convention. RE: Lockpicking and Locksport - Gringo - 03-11-2018 I tried to pick a lock once. I never got it to open. RE: Lockpicking and Locksport - Sikom - 03-11-2018 I got a set, but never really got around to how it work. Would be amazing with some tutorials or something @'Valkyrie' RE: Lockpicking and Locksport - Bish0pQ - 03-19-2018 I've gathered some old locks laying around. Just gonna practice a little bit on them and might buy a kit and lock inventory later on. Hope I can do it with a simple bobby pin. |
