Kevin Mitnick At His Best - mothered - 02-22-2018

Greetings to all,

I've come across this video a while back and It just came to mind, so I thought I'd share It here. This Is Kevin Mitnick using his SEing skills to get himself out of a rather awkward situation. It's only a few minutes, so do take the time to watch It In full.

Those who're unaware of Mitnick, you can read about him here.
Read about his services via his official website.

As I've mentioned many times over (and still do) the fact that anyone and anything can be SEd and exploited, here's a snippet from the above site that solidifies my statements.

I've read this story before in one of his books.

As I've stated before, he's a great author, and I highly recommend "Ghost In The Wires". Here's the Amazon link for anyone interested: https://smile.amazon.com/Ghost-Wires-Adventures-Worlds-Wanted/dp/0316037729

Further to @"Ender"'s post above, In terms of social engineering performed by Mitnick and various hackers, I recommend reading The Art of Intrusion.

That's awesome. Gotta love Mitnick. The funny part of this thread is Mitnick isn't even a particularly good social engineer.

Good point.

Given It was around 20 years ago, perhaps his notoriety was not wide-spread as It Is nowadays.

He probably did.

He was very calm telling the story In the video, but I'd say It's safe to assume he would've been quite nervous at the time of the SE.

He's incredibly talented at what he does and its great to hear about it this way from him. I've read Ghost in the Wires and its definitely a great book. Definitely need to read the other two present in this thread.
