Kodi and Pirate Bay Crackdown - mothered - 02-21-2018

Greetings everyone,

Some fresh news on Illegal downloads and streaming pertaining to TPB and Kodi.

Quote:A person who has been found guilty of copyright infringement or trademark infringement of a normal grade may be sentenced to fines or imprisonment up to a maximum of two years. In cases of gross crimes, a person may be convicted of gross copyright infringement or gross trademark infringement and sent to prison for at least six months and not more than six years.

Source.

In my views, a maximum six year penalty Is too harsh. One of the co-founders of The Pirate Bay named Gottfrid Svartholm (AKA anakata), only served three years In prison for his "Involvement" with TPB's running and distribution of Illegal content. Looking at both equations, It seems like you're better off being In charge of Illegal content than an end user.

Discuss.
