Better descriptions - Bish0pQ - 11-29-2017 Hello everyone, I should've included this in my last thread, but if that is a problem, one of the mods please let me know and I'll merge them. So I recently noticed that when you search for "Sinister.ly" in search engines you don't really get a proper description about what the forum is about. First impressions are important and I think some of the descriptions are misleading. Google Search (worst result) ![]() Bing result: ![]() People might think this forum is about graphics design the way it stands there. On my phone, it is Mr.Kurd that is in the description, displaying as a link to his profile. While I have nothing against Mr.Kurd, it could be used more efficiently. I don't know whether this is something you can change or that it's crawled and created by the search engine itself, but it might bring in some extra members. RE: Better descriptions - mothered - 11-29-2017 Meta tags/Meta description, determine how the forum's description appears In the search results. The first thing I did on my board, was add the keywords In the meta description and as such, It's Indexed with only my selected keywords. I know, the thing is the way it looks now, it doesn't look really proffesional (no offense Oni). RE: Better descriptions - Slacker - 11-29-2017 It's the third search result for the actual weird sinisterly as well I was impressed RE: Better descriptions - Slacker - 11-29-2017 Though a proper description would help with gaining traffic it's still impressive for it to be to three good job on that @Oni RE: Better descriptions - Synthx - 11-29-2017 I agree with you. I feel like if I were to search lets just say youtube, and their description says "We do not allow for people to post porn", and it got shortened to "We do... to post porn" I wouldn't go there. I'm not saying that things are getting cut off, like said, first impressions are best. I understand what you mean. We'll see what @Oni has to say. RE: Better descriptions - Skullmeat - 11-29-2017 I second this, the search needs meta tags. However there might be a reason we dont have them. RE: Better descriptions - phyrrus9 - 11-29-2017 I agree, should probably do some SEO revamps....
