[TOOL] InSSIDer - Bish0pQ - 11-29-2017
Hello everyone,
I wanted to share a tool that in my opinion can be quite useful sometimes. This tool will show which networks are the fastest and on which channel they operate. It has real-time graphs and does it's job quite well.
We used this in our Cisco class as well to see which school network was the best to connect with. I know that a lot of tools like this already exist, but it's worth sharing.

I have similar tools to this, but not as detailed- graphically.
Given It's a setup file, I'll Install It on my other system and post back with my thoughts.

When its comes to networking, especially Wireless i definitely recommend this tool to be in your ToolKit ... i have being using this tool for over 5 years now and it's simple the best ...

Yeah the nice GUI is defintily a plus, also it's available on Windows, Mac and Linux if I remember correctly, which is also a big plus.

This tool is amazing! Especially if you get the pro version, it's a great user-class tool for getting more information about what's around you. This tool is even good enough to detect microwave radiation hits and recommend a course of action.

I fully agree, the pro version is even better. Also very useful to find any channels that are not occupied, to switch to that channel to increase speed.

I live in a pretty dense city, there aren't any unused channels, in fact most channels are occupied by 5-6 APs. The thing I hate is looking on a spectrum analyzer and seeing one AP take up 6 channels

Absolutely.
It Installs literally within 10-15 seconds (on my system anyway), and the graph Is simply brilliant- particularly with the option of selecting an AP of choice and viewing the result. I've performed a side-by-side comparison with another tool I have Installed, and this one wins hands down. It's a lot more accurate with It's signal strength (dBm) and I like the option of selecting the security type via the drop-down menu.
