One Animate Cafe will offer new virtual experiences for its customers. Apparently there is a bunch of content that is more like a 3D theatre experience. Including Death Note, horror sequences, Ghost in the Shell and more. I thought this was pretty cool. They charge a cheap fee for headset rental and then charge fees based on content. Would you go to an animation cafe if you had one in your locality? I feel like it'd be something I'd try, but perhaps not frequent.
It suits Japan to have cafe's like this since they have schools that are dedicated to Virtual Reality.

VR will probably become as "normal" as your general PC is now. I'd love to see where it goes...
