I am terrible - Imagined Self - 09-21-2017 well just for the record i suck big donkey balls... and im very proud of this. sigh... I knew there would be a learning curve but man this shit isnt all that easy... theres always something, prolly something small, that is preventing results... well desired results that is. IDK what it is Im doing wrong. Ive tried reaver bully crunch pixiewps aircrack cant get one attempt to work out. I do believe though I am getting valid handshakes, for the man in the middle attacks... but after that nothing. I spent three days running the more recent hash that i converted to txt... but accidentally killed the process today. sigh. i dont want to give up. but i would like some results... i have taken some screenshots but what i think is happening is my stuff is not set up correctly or something, I watch videos and do exactly as they do but never ending with same results. i get a lot of failed attempts to deauth or associate. I have a good interface, and packet injection test said its working. if anyone has any tips or resources, I would greatly appreciate it. cheers. RE: I am terrible - pvnk - 09-21-2017 not sure what your question is you shouldn't be doing mitm for wireless cracking please...clarify. RE: I am terrible - mothered - 09-21-2017 Crunch Is a wordlist generator, so I don't see how that's part of the equation. If you can provide the actual errors that you're experiencing (such as the good old "Receive timeout occurred" via Reaver) we can work from there. RE: I am terrible - Imagined Self - 09-21-2017 well I dont know what I am doing so... the guides or tutorials I have seen on the Net show many forms of attacks, I was trying to pick a few easy ones, or what seemed easy... and am sure they are just when you understand what is going on fully... and have perspective... of the tools you are using. I can get the handshakes and understand that you need a station to bump off for the re association... but getting past that point is my issue. i know it will be a thing of the past if I just keep at it. The other thing is my confusion on macchanger... and remaining anonymous. from what I have experienced the mac changer isnt working and is revealing the attacking mac address or, source mac address. I have so much to learn. but I already have a few months of hands on, fails... and installing the OS and getting a dual boot with kali and ubuntu.. i havent got the windows os with a VM to work because yea, i just cant figure it out. I know i need that package that lets me fullscreen and use the usb ports... ie my NIC... i got it to work once and then once i removed the usb card, it wouldnt work again. even after a reinstall of kali and all the stuff after. I am learning how I think I should be learning... attempt, analyze, and modify, reattempt. but i really think i should be making progress sometime and starting on experience. i will go home and attempt to actually do a good job, and screen shot the fails so I can post if that kinda thing is cool. idk what info to not show... like my mac address... not sure if i really care cause eventually i will get a new computer as this one craps the bucket. i wish i made a friend irl that could take me by the hand but tbh im kinda scared of that. what i think i want is macchanger to work properly and change my id so when i do sniff im not broadcasting who it is.... i need to learn things like this. before i go any further i think. before i get myself arrested or in other form of trouble. RE: I am terrible - Imagined Self - 09-21-2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ny3IG4X8hHY this was one of the videos I try to replicate... but I do not get the same outcome... I know this is stupid to ask, but the folders on his desktop... I have bully... but the others I do not. pixiewps I have installed from the distro IIRC... I do see the icon here in applications. I was hoping to be able to brute force these 8 pin wps things and bully seemed rad, reaver too... well thats not fair actually because hacking in general is cool imho... fun i bet when you understand things. so I DL'd five books all on kali and recent for pen testing, from beginning to advance... i already had the advanced one out a while, i owe the library 30 bucks... so im glad i got a pdf and can take it home forever now... RE: I am terrible - Imagined Self - 09-28-2017 I want to break my computer... I know its not the fault but what else should I break? lol... sigh this is depressing. sooner or later, they will charge you for the air you need to breathe too... RE: I am terrible - primitive - 09-30-2017 You're using a super old version of reaver, update and see if you still get the same error. https://github.com/t6x/reaver-wps-fork-t6x |
