This is just ridiculous... - Nil - 08-27-2017 ![]() ![]() Has gotten really bad the past day and sometimes websites don't ever load. Is there anything that would cause such atrocious speeds on the user end or is it purely the ISP? RE: This is just ridiculous... - Asura - 08-27-2017 There are chances that it could be your ISP. I usually have issues with my mobile provider. They tried to be slick by putting me on 'high speed' 3G instead of 4G one time. Just ridiculous because I've talked to my ISP countless times over the years and this happens way too often. Moving in a couple of days anyway so oh well. RE: This is just ridiculous... - Ecks - 08-27-2017 I recently starting paying for internet, got a 15mbps plan, I barely ever make 1mbps, speed test shows I max at 5mbps with 1mbps upload. I am not happy but it is the only ISP in my damn town and going back to "borrowing" wifi is still available if I can no longer afford the shitty service they offer. RE: This is just ridiculous... - Blink - 08-28-2017 I recently saw someone's (can't remember who) speedtest showing that they had 15kbps download, but 115mbps upload. Is that the result of an Isolated test, meaning there's no other connected devices nor any background tasks consuming bandwidth? Also, perform a router reboot and check your DHCP/ARP and make sure only trusted devices are on your local network. Of course, this Is on the grounds It's not an ISP Issue. Speed has been feeling better lately and just got 5.5 Mbps download. It may have just been the result of the ISP making changes that would have affected my connection that badly, as nothing I do on the user end could have possibly caused such congestion. It's good to read that It's back to normality. You're technically-minded In the capacity of computing, so my suggestions would be of little benefit to someone of your caliber. Nonetheless, I thought I'd exhaust a few avenues by posting my thoughts on the matter. |
