Downloading music - Slacker - 08-18-2017

Best place or method to download music these days? Been a while since I have done it and figured I'd see what's changed, like last time I downloaded tunes was off limewire so that should tell you something lol

I use an addon for Firefox or a built-in feature on Opera then VLC to convert to MP3.

I would imagine the easiest way to download music is to use one of those youtube to mp3 converters. I may be wrong though

There's also quite a few SoundCloud converters.

Sometimes, rarely, I will torrent music...

Some of the music I used to listen to wasn't provided via YouTube as the artist wasn't keen on this exact problem, but the site he used to sell his music allowed you to preview entire songs (good thing really, otherwise people would have never heard any of it and not bought), but you could grab the stream the site played and download that way. Once I got the hang of it, it was super efficient. Perfect quality all the time, and I didn't have to search for good versions.

LimeWire? Now that's going back many years. I also used to download using that.

Nowadays, whether It be music or software, I torrent everything via my VM (Internet connectivity Is bridged to the Host NIC). Once the download Is complete, I then run It In Sandboxie (also Installed on my VM) and If all Is well, It's transferred to my physical system.

Being administrator, I would never suggest torrenting or anything of the sort. Asides from that, I am fond of Amazon Music. Prime provides you access to a wide variety of music and they'll store anything else you've downloaded.

Well I decided to roll with limewire lol I checked all files when they were finished and all are on a external JUST to be safe

Spotify is pretty cheap.

"Unlimited" offline downloads for pretty much any song as well as a shit load of playlists I can download the night before or morning of and have for whenever I want.
Other than that, torrenting, youtube converters, deepweb archives, etc are all options as well although not legal.

I used to use soundcloud but when they started adding ads I downloaded all of my songs and moved to offline. Those Youtube Downloaders sometimes give decent quality, but its honestly a hit or miss.
