Ender: A self-interview - Blink - 08-02-2017

This is in serious discussion because I want serious responses.
The most important things are highlighted.

Self-interview:

What major are gonna go for?
Probably CS, maybe biology, neurology, something with math, electrical engineering, astrophysics, or theoretical physics
Minor?
CS, biology, neurology, something with math, electrical engineering, astrophysics, or a different physics. Maybe economics, nano-engineering, or marketing.
Can't you choose one?
No
Do you even want to go to college
Yeah... I think so... Wait, do I really want to go? My only real reason is to learn, but can't I learn everything online?

Ok... What do you want to do after college?
Start a company.
What kind?
Technology
Software or hardware?
I'll probably start with software and then maybe do some hardware.
What kind of software
Why the hell is this so specific? I dunno, maybe something like GitHub.
What do you mean by that?
Something available on a website that you interface to from local software.

Do you want to get married
To an extent.
Do you want to have kids?
At some point.
Do you know how many you want?
2, with a 5-8.5 year age gap.

What are your main life goals?
  1. Learn
  2. Do something big (Bigger than Elon Musk.)
  3. Be remembered
  4. Help humanity advance
  5. Move my brain into a computer-powered artificial system
What's up with the last one?
It's an extension of the first.  I want to be able to continue learning for as long as possible.
Do you think you'll succeed with your goals?
  • I'm going to change the world.
  • I hope I can figure out how to move my brain without dying.

What do you enjoy doing?
I like making things, thinking, and learning.
Examples?
Learning random calculus, 3 years ahead of when I'm supposed to learn it, figuring out how things work, learning how to program new things, and debating philosophy.

What are some things that you dislike?
  • When someone start a debate without any good arguments.
  • When someone says that learning is a waste of time.
  • When people don't finish saying what they were saying.

What main things do you do that aren't productive?
  • Anime
  • The occasional movie
  • Interact with useless people
  • Waste time for no reason

Favorite scientist?
Da Vinci or Tesla
Best friend?
Probably @"CC.py", I can't think of any other good candidates.
How long do you keep in touch with friends for?
Usually until I stop being in close physical proximity of them.

What do you think is wrong with the world?
A lot of things.
Can we fix those things?
Some of them.

Favorite nonprofit?
Probably Wikipedia
Current favorite entrepreneur?
Elon Musk.
What do you think of Trump?
I think he has no idea what he is talking about.
Do you prefer Hilary?
Probably not.
What political party would you classify yourself as?
Independant

Do you believe in God?
I believe that a God's existence is unprovable, but so is the lack of it... So I default to atheism. (We also can't prove that we aren't a simulation.)
Do you believe reality is a simulation
I believe it is possible and likely, but I do not believe it is definitely so.
Does that matter?
Not at all.
Do you have aspergers?
Maybe, I'm not completely sure.

Aren't all these questions pointless considering your age?
Screw age, but think what you want.  Many of you have known me for long enough to put me into a category here.

I would appreciate help with thinking about college stuff.
Share your thoughts on all my stuff.
If you want to know anything, ask. I don't see why you would care enough about some random guy online to want to know shit about his life.  This thread is intended to be more of a 'help me with X' thread than a 'here's something that you would like to know' thread.

PS: CC said this seemed narcissistic... The point of this thread is for me to hear your ideas about me, not just to write about myself.

With marriage, you either do or don't want to get married. There's no In between.

You've mentioned "to an extent", which Is Indecisive and understandable when not entirely certain at this point. As with love, It's not something you choose but rather something that's chosen for you (through emotions). If marriage Is for you, you'll know when the time Is right and as such, act on It accordingly.

Great thread, It was a pleasure reading It.

It's like... I do, but it's not the most important thing to me.

Well you've answered your question conclusively- "you do".

It's just not on the list of your priorities.

Well... There we go.

I like writing stuff like this, it helps clear up my own thoughts.

Nice self-interview Smile

Talking from experience, having siblings which ages are so far apart usually doesn't end well. It usually results in neither getting along too well because they share little in common due to the age gap. It also sometimes results in one having dominance over the other resulting in lots and lots of fights. This is especially true if there are no children in the middle. I do, however, see the appeal of having a gap between children from a parent's perspective.

Btw I'm not sure how realistic

the narcissistic thing was a joke

I definitely agree.

Generally speaking, documenting your thoughts can be a good form of releasing emotions that may otherwise be subconsciously buried.

Hmm... Now I can't really remember my reasoning with the sibling thing.

I think wanted there to be a large enough age gap for independence, but not too large of a gap to the extent where they don't speak often or can't relate at all...

Agree.

Commonalities between siblings usually form a greater bond. I have a few friends who have children 1-2 years apart, and the relationship between them Is very healthy.

Hmm... You guys are correct, I admit defeat.
I'm 3.5 years from my brother and it's kinda on and off.... But we're still close, just a bit of occasional fighting.
My step-sister on other other hand is a year from my brother, and they are inseparable.
