Monstress - Boudica - 07-24-2017

I rarely read comics/manga, but I saw this in a local bookstore and was immediately drawn to the art style. Since then, I've also ordered and read the second volume, which I actually pre-ordered since I liked it so much. It's won a bunch of awards and pretty easily available if you're in the U.S. Let me share a little more about it:

Set in an alternate matriarchal 1900’s Asia, in a richly imagined world of art deco-inflected steampunk, MONSTRESS tells the story of a teenage girl who is struggling to survive the trauma of war, and who shares a mysterious psychic link with a monster of tremendous power, a connection that will transform them both.
