CrashPlan - Defeat - 06-15-2017

I sent my laptop in for repair a week or so ago and it came back yesterday completely wiped. Thankfully I had a trial with CrashPlan. I just had to upgrade and get my files restored. It's saying it'll take 12hours to restore the complete C Drive. Is there anything I should know? I've never done this before. I'm guessing I'll still have to reinstall the applications even though the files will all still be there.

That's fine, I'm just worried about all my doc's being there mostly.

CrashPlan does not restore an Image copy (clone), hence you will need to Install your applications.

You simply select the folders you wish to restore, and you're good to go. That's provided your HDD was not deleted/overwritten (securely) with random data.

Next time just backup your system image to a external hdd or sdd. It's a lot easier and anyone can use the extra space.

Looks like a good buy, personally I would have bought a used (eBay) one for a lot less. You should try the Amazon refund SE and get your money back.
