intel core i7-980x, is it good? - ElevatorToHeaven - 06-08-2017 Hi i was wondering if the Intel core i7-980x is still viable. It seems really good to me but its pretty old. I'm thinking of buying a few and wanted some input before making the purchase. Thanks! RE: intel core i7-980x, is it good? - Ecks - 06-08-2017 It really depends on your own needs, is it a good CPU if you can get it for a descent price but if you need something more powerful you can check out https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-980X+%40+3.33GHz&id=866 . I can get them for like 25 bucks each, its a really good price for what seems to me as good hardware. I dont know what to do with it though... RE: intel core i7-980x, is it good? - JzJad - 06-09-2017 for 25$ I mean hell I'd grab a few for a few systems, servers and such for that cheap. For gaming sure they will do alright don't expect the best performance though. RE: intel core i7-980x, is it good? - Ecks - 06-09-2017 Hell if you can't find any uses for them there is always flipping them on a marketplace (creigslist, ebay, here). To be fair, that was what I thought he was going to do until I read further. I can't see any particular cons to it! Seems like there are a lot of option available, so I say, why not? |
