Rough or Smooth mouse pad? - ZherkTG - 06-05-2017

I'm finally getting the setup I've been envisioning piece by piece, and wanted to know what kind of extended mouse pad texture you guys prefer. I plan on getting one custom made so I kind of don't wanna go wrong with it. Thanks in advance!

I prefer the rough ones myself but it's more or less up to how it feels to you.

Personally, I'd go with the smooth mouse pad. You should go with whichever works best for you.

Neither are really better, but I prefer smooth

Rough tends to have better tracking, smooth tends to be faster. There's a balance.

I have a smooth mousepad. Currently starting to rip so might have to buy a new one soon. See if you can try out both a rough and smooth one just to see what feel you like better.

got a corsair smooth one, prefer way more since less friction and when playing FPS you need to flick Tongue

Somewhere in between, but leaning rough is best imo.

I'd say go with the rough; there's a lot more control.

The thing is it really depends on your usage. Rough has a lot finer pickup in terms of optics and lasers, however with a smooth it moves around more comfortably and for me works just as well. Try them both out with a mouse, and then pick.
