What seprates R.A.T. sellers from companies like HACKING TEAM - DigitalJinx - 04-30-2017
People who sell rats and other hacking tools get arrested all the time and are often hunted, but companies like hacking team not only get away will selling more advance and sophisticated tools, they're actively encouraged. Is it really simply put who's buying them?

I think part of it is marketing. A lot of times, they market it as spying, and allow anyone to purchase it. HACIKING TEAM has really high prices and are selective on who they sell to. Could be part of it.

Simple answer - Hacking Team is (I am not sure about its current state though) a government contractor while regular RAT sellers are not. Plus their (HT's) tools are much more sophisticated than regular tools.

what seperates them is that they have a high IQ and they have greater chances of breaking into anything. ATM passwords, school records, cheating spouse, crime records. these people do it for love as eazihacker at g mail dot come once told me.

Hacking Team are certified In offensive security, thereby Identify vulnerabilities and execute attacks In a controlled environment, RATs Inclusive.
As such, they're selective to whom they sell and distribute their tools- such as law enforcement and government entities which are then used In an ethical manner when a suspected attack/breach Is Imminent. The tools can be misused, but their (Hacking Team) primary focus Is from an ethical standpoint.
