I'd like to highlight a "feature" of SSDs that are not mentioned anywhere because it has no relevance for the market, but rather for a small set of people:
You cannot use software encryption on an SSD effectively!
Even if you utilize highly advanced algos and proper software the SSD hardware by design is cursed to support it, the plaintext version remains still readable at a deterministic offset "under" the encrypted one with very little effort (much easier than HDD forensics)

That's actually really cool, but also kinda scary. Do you have any links to whitepapers by Intel, Seagate, or some other manufacturer I could read?
