Random File I Downloaded Long Time Ago. Need Help - FurryRock - 02-01-2017

I downloaded a random file off of a random dropbox link, that was 806mb in size about three months ago. I have a guesstimate that it might've been a rar/zip of a porn collection. Not %100 sure thats why I downloaded it but yeah. It has no file extension at all. Any chance of me figuring out the right extension for it, or just try to recover some of the file to get a clue of what is in it.

With the minimal Info at hand, It's pretty difficult to provide conclusive advice.

Why don't you try all the possible file extensions and see which one allows the file to open and view It's contents.
Alternatively, you can try these:

http://www.checkfiletype.com/
http://mark0.net/onlinetrid.aspx

Holy shit, thanks for the information. The 2nd website seems to be working, but can't tell yet. Never thought that a program/website like such would exist.
Update: One of the online identifiers actually worked real quick it was a Matroska file. Turn out to be some japanese/korean movie.

there's a command for that:
Code:
file <name here>
-i option will give you the MIME-type too
