Mariah Carey BOMBED her New Year's performance - zenith - 01-01-2017
When Mariah Carey was singing trying to sing for her New Year's preformance, her audio malfunctioned. This made it impossible for her to lip sync to the song that was being played

Actually had nothing to do with her. Not many people realize what goes into concerts but the earbuds in their ears are there to help them keep in time with their song and the "directors" or I believe they're called audio engineers or something along those lines had a serious fuck up. Someone lost their job last night.

So was this an audio malfunction that prevented her from singing In tune/sync, and not anything to do with lip sync?

From what I see, the audio (which she heard) got a problem and that prevented her to sync, yeah.
If she was lip syncing well
She was in even more trouble.

Whatever happened, her performance was terrible.
She should have tried to cover It by hitting a few notes here and there. Instead, she tried to get the audience Involved.
