Just because people think it looks bad, does not mean it's not your thing. If this is your first userbar then it's not bad and you'll just have to learn from it. Remember that's a learning process and you'll improve. Either way if you give up just because of some criticism or another person's opinion then graphic design will be difficult for you.

It's not bad as a first. Animation is a bit shaky, and the text needs to stand our more, but its not bad.
I'm sure with some refining it will become better.

Shit, you should've seen my first userbar. Now that was bad. It honestly doesn't even look that bad for your first one.
It just takes practice my man, use a lot of creativity.

It looks ok for your first userbar, however, make the text white or something. Because I can barely read it.
