Fake News - DarkMuse - 11-29-2016

What is your opinions on fake news and bullshit videos?

Personally, I find the subject to be infuriating. Some people seem to think that making prank videos and fake reaction videos are okay and I think it's fucking moronic. Some of you may think that it's not a big deal but I disagree. There are too many morons in today's age that will reinforce their own bigoted ideas with this garbage. I'd be glad to see fake news banned from the internet. That brings up another view that people think the internet is taking our freedom of speech and press. No. No no no no no. We as the people need to regulate the media. Call out bullshit videos and new poster. Curb stomp any of these morons who think they can fool the people.

Sincerely,
The Hacker 4chan

all about the money, my friend

RE: Fake News - Aether - 11-29-2016

Both are after the same end result, which is to create revenue. In regards to the videos, people are starting to realize that actually putting "effort" into videos does not correlate to revenue, and quite frankly the opposite's happening. It's easier to create a viewer base by posting over exaggerated videos, click bait titles and thumbnails.

Fake News basically do the same thing. They create click bait article titles to lure views that in turn view advertisements which create revenue for the writers.

Do you hate them? They annoy me, yes. But I don't believe it's really that big of an issue as it's perceived as it's really easy to differentiate fake from real news.

But don't you see it tearing the country apart? People are taking these fake, bullshit facts and regurgitating them. They are giving cancer to the country and it's killing us.You could say survival of the fittest but let me tell you what. There's A LOT of fucking stupid people in the country and it's concerning.

I'm from Europe and with both work+study experience abroad in different European countries I haven't really seen any effects from false news etc so I can't comment from an american's perspective.

There's gullible people everywhere not just in america, but this internet spam (Because that's what it is) has been around for years. The only reasoning I find that might be a cause for "fake news" being an issue now was due to the American elections (Which justifiably, people might think it could be skewed due to fake news) but in the end and bluntly, the American elections were the lesser of two evils.

I personally believe it's only being discussed right now due to the elections as people try to find reasons to blame on.

I'm not sure if fake news should be censored, but I know there are plenty of gullible people out there. During the presidential campaign, my Facebook was littered with fake articles. Overall, these articles are there to misinform the public. Sad

I love how mainstream media are suddenly against fake news on the internet but they're the ones spreading that shit.

RE: Fake News - Inori - 11-29-2016

Fake news can go one of two ways; if it's just a misinformed/ignorant source, shame on you, do your research. If it's clickbait or demeaning someone for pageviews, the author can go fuck themselves.

On another level, fake science news. Reporting on new discoveries, inventions, and breakthroughs is so incredibly easy to get wrong, and so many cut-rate sources bullshit discoveries so often that I sometimes find myself second-guessing reputable sources.

It really is all about the money. Shit has changed.

I blame facebook.

RE: Fake News - Skullmeat - 11-30-2016

Fake news is lies, and we don't need that. Our populace is dumb enough.
