The key of all magickal workings is the ability to raise, manipulate, and direct energy. Before we can learn to properly cast a spell or make a connection, we must first learn how to raise our bio-electricity so that we have something to work with. Then, we will learn how to manipulate this energy to our benefit, and we'll be ready to learn how to direct the energy in order to bring the will into reality.

Converted to Satanism at 14-15, started practicing magick 6 months later, became proficient at magick in another 6 months, and really got into the energy manipulation aspect of it about 3 months after that. So, give or take, 4-5 years in actual energy manipulation, 5-6 years in magick as a whole.
