Bank Account Closed - Silence - 07-21-2016
So today I had to go into my local Regions wondering why my online banking account wasn't letting me sign in and view my balance.
So after multiple phone calls to the customer service reps (At about 9AM might I add, I'm not a morning person), I found out my account was closed. No reason, no notification, nothing. I had to go to the branch to figure things out. Still no answers, they simply said it was closed but "since I brought the necessary information we can have them reopen it by the end of the business day. You should have paid attention and come to the branch when we notified you had 30 days to do so or the account would be closed." That got me thinking, you know, I never got a phone call, email, or letter stating that something was going on that needed my attention. Hell, I check my mobile banking statements daily and I didn't have a notification or anything. They didn't even bother to give a reason even after I pointed out the faulty logic of "we claim to have sent information regarding it to you, but we didn't. So we're going to close the account without giving you a valid reason." Skip forward to now, the end of the business day, my account still has not been opened and I'm unable to even see my balance. Quite pissed.
TL;DR, Regions closed my bank account without a proper reason.
Has anyone had similar problems with their banks? If so, what was the reason, how did you resolve it (if you did) and how long did it take?

That seems fucked up man. Thank god I haven't had an issue like that with my bank.

Go back there, tell them you want didn't got any notification or shit at all about it and that you either want your money or your bank account opened.
That is what I did when my old paypal got closed.
I was like shouting through the phone.

I can't. It's after business hours. I've been on the phone with them for a while and they're claiming that "there's a note saying it's been re-opened" but I'm still not able to access it on my online banking account. They're saying it's gonna be about 2 business days til it shows up on there, for some fucking reason.

Just a bit, thankfully I haven't kept a large balance on it for too long in case something like this did happen. Still irritating nonetheless.

Seek free legal advice, consider taking them to a small claims court. They'll soon re-open your bank account or at least reimburse your balance. Depending on what the free legal advice suggests, you could be on for a big pay day. You could seriously play this off saying you no longer trust banks, you missed out on vacations because your money was tied up, if your parents or a friend missed a payment on a bill you can claim it was because you owed them money and was unable to pay them back since you had no access to your bank etc..
Keep us updated tho, this interests me since it's very weird for a bank to just close your account.

No idea, it depends how much you want to play it. Like I said, if he seeks free legal advice they will give him a more clear picture than I could. I got like £500+ worth of paypal debt cleared once for threatening them with small claims court. (Actually they threatened me and I went ahead with it, as soon as they knew I was happy to fight them in court they just cleared the debt and perm limited my acc lol)
