  • It protects your site from attacks.
  • You can block certain countries or ip address from the whole site.
  • It's easy to configure as all it takes to set up is a DNS nameserver change.

Some Floods will overflow the memory which will not take the site down, but have an error which means no cache!
Also if you are using this as anti-DDoS, do not because there are a lot better scripts.

Cloudflare is definitely a must have for any website owner. Best of all, it has a free option as well.

Cloudflare doesn't exactly keep your website up when it's down. It shows a preview of the website, but you cannot navigate or anything like that.

I had CloudFlare on my website a while back, I had to remove it as it caused me so many problems, it locked me out of my own website when I was using my Admin CP and tried to accept orders.

I don't think this was an issue with Cloudflare. The only thing you need to watch for with CF is that you don't have rocket loader running. It causes a lot of bugs.

Personally the first thing I do when setting up a website is install CF. The best part about it is all the hosts I've used set it up for you.

Quote:We automatically optimize the delivery of your web pages so your visitors get the fastest page load times and best performance. We also block threats and limit abusive bots and crawlers from wasting your bandwidth and server resources. The result: CloudFlare-powered websites see a significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks.

CloudFlare doesn't just make a preview of your website. It has a lot of other features.

People use CloudFlare because they think it's extremely hard to take down. I can take down any site which uses CloudFlare, which I find hilarious. I take HF down with just 10 bots. CloudFlare is extremely vulnerable to HTTP Floods.
