I was starting to become interested in Dungeons and Dragons and would like to hear about what anyone who plays has to say about it! SO far i've heard that 3.5 is still the best version, and 4 was a try with a different direction for the game but it fell flat for the most part. I know of a few friends who play the 3.5 version and they have mats and miniatures and game books and such so I was thinking of starting there. Also, I'm interested in becoming a Paladin and switching to a Blackguard once I get into prestige.

Any opinions, questions, or general comments? Bring them on and lets discuss!

Hmmm, I'm kinda interested as well. I've never played, but ive heard of it. This is a PC game?

Nope, it's a tabletop game! That's one of the best things about it though. You get a group of your good friends who are also interested together and designate a Dungeon Master to guide your group through a tale. The mechanics are a little complex and at least one person HAS to have a good grip on them or the game won't get very far, but it's a fun game because of how open ended it is. I played a few times and I remember one of the main villains secretly poisoning a river which was the water supply of a town we were passing through. We went into a shop there and just as the shop keep tried pulling a knife on us, one of the characters (A ranger) got his tiger to maul him. What a great time. Smile

Hmmm sounds fun. I think I saw a PC version somewhere...

Yeah, there have been quite a few video game versions of D&D. Some of them on PC and some of them online. Neverwinter Nights, for example, was based off of Dungeons and Dragons and was a popular franchise. It was always likened to The Elder Scrolls games.

I'll have to go check that out, although with my busy schedule I might not fit it in...
