My apprenticeship is giving me a $1000 laptop and a iPhone 6 plus. - Master - 10-20-2016

My apprenticeships employer has give me a $1000/£850 laptop (hp probook G3 470) and a iPhone 6s, I can't believe it.

They will let me keep at the end of employment and can take it home each day but it's most likely a company asset.

That really depends who the employer is, and the work environment.

AFAIK statistics say young employees work more hours anyway because they choose to, which in turn affects company expectations
if 80% of your colleagues are working off the hours, doesn't matter what the company gives their employees, you're going to be 'expected' to work longer just to keep up with everyone else. If you don't higher ups will wonder why your work output is less

The inverse is also true, too. If most of your colleagues work just enough to get by, you're probably not going to be expected to work much more then them.

This is actually so true, and not just in terms of apprenticeships. I've found this to be true for the jobs I've had.
