Tor network - millionandbell - 10-08-2016

I was talking to my boss about the TOR network and he thinks something recently happened to it, or is in the development of happening to it, I haven't heard anything but I was wondering if anyone knew?

Not really tor gets updated more than once you know. Just more people are trying to control its exit nodes since they showed it on Mr.Robot but thats about it I think.

TOR's behavior varies considerably, depending on who controls the majority of the exit nodes that you're running through. IMHO it's more honey than bees lately; try I2P or Freenet if you're looking for something different.

i was using Tunnelbear for awhile it hides your IP only for like 500mb or something, but i don't do things where i need to hide my IP that often i just want a good free VPN

if you dont want to contribute your traffic to tor, you could try making your own VPN if you own or have access to a server

I've also considered this, i would feel much safer using something that i built rather than what someone else built, I'm not sure where to start though.

pritunl is an open source alternative to OpenVPN AS, and is easy to set up

If only VPNs were illegal.

Tor Browser is not a VPN.
