If you're here to learn I recommend, obviously, to lurk. Go through posts and grab those e-books. There have been plenty of ebook dumps and plenty of tut threads. Conversationally, we have a Skype and a Discord chat, but we use Discord a lot more often and it's almost always populated.

mostly hacking & such + mild gamer

The anime group on here, Otaku, may do some streams if you ever are curious.
A few people on here have played CS go recently. If you join the Discord, maybe you can game with some other members?
