Sinister News? - fydt - 09-12-2016

I've been thinking of ways to kind of make this forum a bit more active for the last few days I've been here. This forum is seriously by far one of the best looking ones I've ever come across, and I have been an active and integrated member at four major forums so far, three of which are still very relevant today. So I was thinking, besides this forum just having not too many members, what's kind of missing compared to other, bigger forums. I checked and instantly thought of forum-based news. Those who are unfamiliar with these kind of news, it's basically a weekly compilation of different sections, all - or at least mostly - based on the forum.

This seems like a good idea to me, since it'd bring all members together a bit more because a relatively large group would have to work together at least once a week to accomplish a group project. There are interviews waiting to be held and organized which - again - brings members together a little more.

It'd also come with a new, dedicated section, a short period of time where members of this News Team would be selected, maybe even a small poll to get a unique and fitting name for this weekly e-paper. It'd give people a reason to submit graphics and hope for them to be featured, it'd honor people that recently achieved great achievements and overall, it'd bring a bit more life into Sinister. Just throwing my two cents in here.

I'm really excited to hear what the rest of Sinister thinks, especially those who are in charge in terms of decision-makings and such. In addition to that, if you like this idea, I'd be happy to know if there are even members out there that would be wiling to organize this together with me and the Staff. I don't want this to be another thing the Administration and Mods have to worry about. That doesn't mean they're invited to partake in this, but I want think they already have enough things to care about, let's not shove that in their sandbox full of responsibilities too.

Just to make things easier and get as many votes as possible - as some members don't want to write a post just to show their opinion - I added a poll to this thread which I urge you to vote on! Smile

Not a bad idea, but there should be some individuals willing to put time and effort in this. I have time, so if this gets through and you need my help, just shoot me a PM mate and I'll see what I can do.

I like the idea, although you say you want to bring more activity to the forum but if there isn't enough already whats going to make the news for the site enjoyable?

We've talked about this a fair bit within Lunar, so I'd welcome you to come apply if you're interested.

This has definitely come up in some other threads (forgive me, I can't remember which exactly) but I know there's several individuals interested in it. Stay in contact with Lunar members as I believe (as mentioned above) they may be making some sort of headway with this idea.

Thank you for your contribution!

I'm all for this, but It's success depends on the longevity pertaining to It's contributors.

It's one thing getting It up and running, and another keeping It In a functional state without breaks In continuity. That Is, members must be dedicatedly Involved, week In, week out. In my experience, It Is somewhat difficult to maintain It as such.

In saying that, good suggestion.

Nothing goes on here mate. A lot of extreme social introverts here. The news would create such a toxic environment. That's my geniune insight. I'd read a line of the article and it'd trigger me due to the amount of potential of pure stupidity and poor English. Yes, I realize this is an English based forum. Yes, that makes it worse when Staff and other forum "official events" demonstrate their lack of a middle school English education.

I sure as hell would feel bad if someone competent was editor. That'd be a bad joke.

Let's not play bad jokes on this community.

We had a news group 1-2 years ago. Wasn't the most professional and I'd love to see the idea executed better. Lunar was discussing doing this. If you're sincerely interested, I suggest talking with @"Ao".

You literally confirmed my post by saying that it wasn't run professionally.
