Depends on your more preferred genres; I know you said you want to explore your horizons, but, I've watched too many anime to remember what the best ones were. If you throw a genre or a combination of favourite genres, I can most likely give you a good anime.

A movie by the name of "Your Name.", or "Kimi no Na wa" was just released. Its super good! Other anime... Hmmm
