I found this anime a while ago, for me it was pretty good. If you are not into school romance/love triangle like animes you might as well click back now. This series is either a hit or a miss.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You don't need to watch white album before watching this, this is a standalone anime the only relationship with white album is the music in this.

Synopsis

Why do i like this anime and what are the bad sides to this anime?
Like my previous review, if you are into romance and a school setting then this anime might catch your interest. The story revolves around a boy who is a crappy guitarist, a girl who is a talented vocalist and a prodigious pianist. Together they form a pretty good melody and decide to make a band for the school fair. The plot does not seem very unique or exciting but I thought it waas pretty good. The second thing I really like is the character development, during the later episodes you know how a character really feels, you can see how they change over time, you can see how they act and the choices they make(wheter the choice is right or wrong is up to you) and you can see them as genuine human beings unlike some other animes. The romance in this anime is another thing which i found to be quite good, this anime is meant for those who are into much more of a mature romance genre than a lighthearted romcom, its very realistic and shows the romance in a mature sense. The setting is perfect for this kind of story, and it is presented very nicely. The final thing I want to point out is the sound track. Music, being one of the main drives in this anime, means that the soundtrack was just amazing.Now, there are some bits in this anime that people might be put off by, two main things come to mind. The first is the pacing, due to character development the pacing is extremely slow during the earlier-middle section of this anime, infact lots of people have dropped the anime due to this. However I think watching through it is worth it so the ending will have a bit more impact. Another thing is the ending of this anime, if you are looking for a happy ending where everything works out then this anime is not for you.
I think this anime is worth watching, but if you feel like dropping it, that is perfectly understandable too. Like i mentioned at the start of this post, this anime is either a hit or a miss.
Overall I would rate this a 4/5

It was a really good anime, I agree. I enjoyed it. I thought at first before I watched it that I had to watch white album but found out they had nothing to do with one another really.

People say this anime was disappointing, specifically how the first half was fine and looking like the story will develop into a decent romance anime, but where you would expect it to start become really good it completely falls down on its fat face. So, they did a bad job timing the rise and fall, so to speak.

I'm basing this on the reviews I read, I haven't watched it yet. I always scout the anime before bothering torrenting it.

I have pretty fast fiber internet so it's never been a problem, but yes, I do
