DOOM? - Oni - 06-05-2016 Has anyone else played Doom? Wasn't going to buy it but @Skullmeat shared it with me. I've played it a couple hours and it's pretty alright. The finishers/chainsaw are reason enough to play: RE: DOOM? - BurritoBeans - 06-05-2016 I got it on PS4 on day-one (Yeah I know it's not PC but originally I didn't even want the game - no hope for it - but we still got a pre-order) and it's pretty OK I guess. Singleplayer is pretty good stuff, it feels nice to be strafing around and shooting up stuff - I haven't played a game that gives the simple "Run around and shoot while finding keycards" thing that I loved in the original two in forever - but I felt it's a tad bit too short as I blew through it on Ultra-Violence and then Nightmare pretty quickly. Multiplayer outright sucks to me, nothing else to say there, and Snapmaps I haven't used enough to judge yet. Was it worth the $60? Ehh, I dunno, it's not bad if you play it for solo but the rest I felt wasn't that good. I used a PS4 controller to play, albeit on a computer with a Titan X. RE: DOOM? - Inori - 06-05-2016 DOOM is next on my list to get after Overwatch. I feel like the SnapMap feature is extremely underrated by anyone who doesn't delve into it and fuck with everything they can. I feel like I'd rather play Doom if I was looking for gore and carnage, though. RE: DOOM? - pvnk - 06-05-2016 oh dang! This isn't the "classic" one. It resembles Doom 3. RE: DOOM? - mug3n - 06-05-2016 I fucking love it so far, I beat it on nightmare the week it came out and got about 1/3 on ultra nightmare before walking off a cliff and killing myself. I highly recommend it if you like the original doom, it's by far the best shooter ive played in years. The multiplayer is kind if boring though. Personally I bought it on G2A preorder for like 40 bucks and wouldn't spend more than $40 on it. But the single player is a good 9.5/10 RE: DOOM? - Customer - 06-05-2016 I played a lot of the multiplayer beta, and it was REALLY fun. They definitely need to patch some things in the current multiplayer though. I have yet to play the campaign of the game, but I'm excited for it. RE: DOOM? - insidious - 06-05-2016 I think I mentioned this a few times around chat, but here goes I never played the game (might try it out some time soon) but from the gameplay vids it seems as if the game is a bit too repetative for my taste. The weapon and killing animations are really freaking awesome, don't get me wrong. It's a great game to play to blow off steam, but it lacks much substance in it's plot and it's basically just kill-kill-kill Not a bad thing in and of itself, might be fixed with a DLC or update, but it's a con imo |
