Member Ran Ads - An0Xide - 05-28-2016
I think that us implementing an Ad system like those you see in other communities where members pay the site owner to run some ads for their products would be a good idea if implemented here in SL, Let me fill you in why.
Well SL will be able to make more money. A lot of people are willing to pay for an Ad to be runned on a site if it is heave populated just like this one. This can both be a financial help to the community as well as a help to the seller.
Now there will have to be some rules to this however. Members who are paying for an ad must qualify first. This means the thing they are trying to advertise is not inappropriate content or anything that violates the community guidelines.
There is a plugin for this i believe that makes this easier for the webmaster.
Just a suggestion that i believe could help out the community financially.

I believe we've had paid stickies in the past, or something similar, but a lot of the members don't have ads shown to them, if upgraded, or using adblock. Not to mention I'd imagine it would be image and link only. Plus I don't know who @Oni goes through, but they may not even allow custom advertisements.

Its adding an image via the HTML code into the theme for a limited time. Its easy to put in and easy to remove. It has no down sides. However it is the webmasters Choice.
And
The Ads don't violate web hosts rules as you are not breaking any of them.
The images would have to be a set dimension thought so it doesnt affect the theme in any way.

You have to contact us to get ads. We already have a system in place for when we sell them. I hate seeing ads and ours are priced as such. Stickies might be cheaper than ads, in some cases.
