Quote:ONCE UPON A TIME…
The copywriter paused as he tried to think of a fun gimmick for the Epistory description. The idea was just out of reach, like the name of your new girlfriend’s sister, and the cool night outside beckoned him in a fussy tone to either come out and do something fun or sleep with the window open and let the air wash over him as he dreamed. Inspiration was not kind, but took pity on him after a while and tossed him a few scraps to work with.
Epistory is about a muse going on a journey to inspire a troubled writer, and as one of those himself, the copywriter began to flail and flop, shooting off half-baked ideas like a nervous salmon in mating season. First was some kind of pun on the band Muse and the mythological figure, but it was kind of a one-note joke, so he scrapped it. Then he listened to Knights of Cydonia cause he was totally feeling it.
Epistory is also a game controlled entirely by typing on the keyboard, so next the copywriter thought about doing a play on Mavis Beacon, the “famous” typing “teacher” beloved by children of the 90’s. Then he realized how old he was and how weird that was, so he listened to Knights of Cydonia again, and imagined he was back in high school.
In the end, he settled on a cute self-narration bit, mentioned the game’s amazing folded paper art style, solid puzzle mechanics, and frantic combat, and then asked everyone to buy it while it was on sale that day. (Which is today, obviously.) Then he listened to Knights of Cydonia. It was sweet.
The End.
