I disagree. It's there for a reason to prevent any kind of abuse. In case of any breaching or compromise, such absence of limits could pose a bigger threat to the forum. I never face the limit for posts and pretty sure most of us don't, unless you're on a posting spree ofcourse.

I'm always on a posting spree, and it kind of annoys me that I have to wait.
I agree with some of on what you said, but I said it's for upgrade users for a reason.

You can make a potential 8640 posts per day, with the timer. I don't really think it should be removed.
