VMware is one of my favourite virtual machines out there, even though it is a little pricey.

Well it's a bit pricey but a lot more stable then free ones.

you mean virtual box? yes its a similar software.
virtual box is in some OSs faster but VMWare is the professionals choice.
you can get a free vmware workstation at their website (30 day trial)
its used in server infrastructures too, very advanced.

Eh, Virtualbox is just as stable in my opinion. In fact, I prefer Virtualbox.
