The first Steam Box revealed. - Google - 03-02-2013 Quote:The first Steam Box has been revealed today at CES, giving us the first impression of this micro computer, which has been built by Valve in collaboration with Xi3, and shown under the codename "Piston".what are you thinking guys? source:Elitpvpers. RE: The first Steam Box revealed. - Prince - 03-02-2013 I'm thinking is the Steambox going to take it away from Sony and Microsoft? Or will they be a minor competitor that goes viral for a year and then calms down (Like the Wii). I hope Valve do something different, but keep the concept going, keep gaming simple and still fun. RE: The first Steam Box revealed. - Google - 03-02-2013 no, I guess it will stay with Sony and Microsoft. Why? because if you bought already the game on Steam you have it forever and can enjoy it and do not pay 60 bucks. It would just feel wrong playing them on a console! You can use a keyboard and mouse on a PS3 or Xbox, you just need some sort of an adapter. However that's the thing, it's basically going to be just like a PC without customizability, it'll be around the same price as a low-range pc specification, but it'll be a little better than your average gaming PC due to bespoke component. In my opinion, I would rather just either get a console, or a PC; why go in the middle? I highly doubt that they will allow you to use your own OS, and with new technology most PC gamers can just use a laptop. Laptops aren't made for gaming. I highly doubt they will use Mac OS X on a gaming platform. Also, there are tons of laptops with dedicated graphics cards designed for gaming on the go. |
