Freenom is pretty good I've worked with them before. Useless extensions unless you want to make a testbed site and slap code all over it for practice.. But if you go with One.com you can get free .COM / .NET / any TLD. I'm pretty sure you have to be in the United States for it to work.

Also you should use [hide] tags.

One.com is ok, but don't use it after the first year. Change domain name ownership for the last moth to namecheap, and then when it expires re-obtain the domain from one.com.
