How To Download Windows 10 - Easy - Free - Makan - 07-30-2015

So I know some people are still having trouble making the download start or install the download. There are a couple of solutions to this problem and I may be able to assist.

Option A:

Hey guys just a short tutorial how to get Windows 10 easy.

1. First locate to the folder below.

C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

2 .Next delete everything within the folder.

3. Next run 'CMD' as admin and type 'wuauclt.exe /updatenow'

4. Open windows update and windows 10 should start downloading.

5. Enjoy, this method seemed to work for me.

If that doesn't work, then option B probably will.

Option B:

Download this: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=616936 (if you have a 64 bit system)

or this: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=616935 (if you have a 32 bit system)

Then run it. Nothing might happen at the start so you may have to wait 5-20 minutes, but then your upgrade notification will come up soon. To check, search Windows Update on your taskbar. If it says Windows 8 is downloading, it's good. If it says it's preparing, it's working. If it says "Your copy has been reserved" then you may have to wait a little while but it will soon start to work.

(The first & second method let's you keep everything. Both of these methods are a direct upgrade and you keep all of your files.)

I'm currently doing method B it's on 10%, I will leave feedback once it's installed and if everything has been done safely but for now thank you.

Cool, thanks for sharing. Already upgraded yesterday. Just clicked on the Windows icon and it began upgrading. Smile
