These guys were just asking to be hacked. RE: $10 router blamed in Bangladesh bank hack - PLX-2M - 04-22-2016 (04-22-2016, 08:14 PM)Primitive Wrote: It's. In. Bangladesh. Point taken - it's a third world country, but you would be surprised, or should I say horrified, how insecure credit unions in US are...their security posture is actually not that far above bank in Bangladesh. RE: $10 router blamed in Bangladesh bank hack - BurritoBeans - 04-22-2016 Man, even being in Bangladesh, having to handle all that money you'd think they'd be smart and invest into something better than a cheap $10 router. Oh well, that's what they get for being stupid I guess. RE: $10 router blamed in Bangladesh bank hack - mothered - 04-23-2016 This Is a perfect example as to WHY "hackers" are the ones brought before the courts when accessing Information and details due to the Insecurities and vulnerabilities of other entities. From the Website: Quote:The bank had no firewall and used second-hand routers that cost $10 to connect to global financial networks The lack of Security Is simply an open Invitation. Why Isn't the Bangladesh Central Bank Issued with litigation? Why aren't they the ones taken to court? They're responsible for securing confidential Information/critical credentials of their customers, and due to their Insecurities, they should be held fully responsible. The bank will probably be Issued with a mediocre fine, whilst the hackers do jail time due to the actions of the bank who are directly responsible. RE: $10 router blamed in Bangladesh bank hack - m0dem - 04-23-2016 As always, something stupidly simple and totally avoidable.
