Paradox ~ Fire Text - Spire_CnC - 02-18-2013 Hey guys, what's up?
Its Spire, with another tutorial. This time I'll show you how to make a fire like text in Photoshop. Source: http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photoshop-text/text-effects/fire-text/ I'll just go ahead and warn you, its a pretty lengthy tutorial, but the output is completely worth it. Hope you guys enjoy and learn from it. _________________________________________ Below is what we are aiming for at the end of this tut. ![]() Step 1: Open Photoshop and create a new document, name it whatever you'd like and make sure your dimen- sions are 3 by 3 inches. ![]() Step 2: You're gonna want to fill your background with a black color. ![]() Step 3: Create a text (the font/text really doesn't matter, I just used "Fire" and Times New Roman for the sake of the tutorial) you can use whatever font and text you'd like. ![]() Step 4: Re-size the text to fit you're workspace, make sure to leave some at the top for our flames. ![]() Step 5: Right click on the type layer and click Rasterize>Type. ![]() Step 6: Next you're going to want to make a copy of the rasterized text layer. ![]() Turn the duplicate layer OFF for now. Step 7: Now click on the main type layer once again. Rotate the canvas 90 degrees clockwise. ![]() Step 8: Apply the wind filter while the text is still rotated. ![]() Make sure the settings match the ones below. ![]() Click "ok" and your text should look like this. ![]() Hit Ctrl+F to add the filter once more. ![]() Step 9: Rotate the canvas again 90 degrees counter clockwise. ![]() Step 10: Duplicate the background layer. ![]() Step 11: Right click on the "Fire" text layer and click "Merge Down." ![]() Your layers should now look like this. ![]() Step 12: Select the rectangular marquee tool. ![]() Now draw a rectangular marquee around the text, making sure you leave enough room for our flames. ![]() Step 13: Apply the "Liquify" filter. ![]() Make sure the "Forward Warp Tool" is selected. ![]() Set your brush size to 100. ![]() Move the brush lightly from left to right on each flame. ![]() Now change the brush size to 15. ![]() Lightly stroke up in the text, giving it that flame like look. ![]() After that, change your brush size one more time. This time to 50. ![]() Stroke upwards on the flames you just made, making large flames. ![]() After all that, it should look somewhat like this. ![]() Step 14: Add a hue/saturation overlay to the "Fire" layer. ![]() Make sure the settings look like these, for the most realistic fire look. ![]() It should look like this. ![]() Step 15: Now turn the "Fire Copy" layer ON. ![]() Step 16: Add a gradient overlay to the "Fire Copy" layer. ![]() Click on the gradient to change it. Click the far left pointer first. ![]() Select a dark orange/brownish color. ![]() Now click the right pointer. ![]() Select a light/burnt orange color. ![]() Make sure the settings match the ones below. ![]() At this point, your text should look like this. ![]() Step 17: The edges look a little rough. So you need to add a layer mask. Step 18: Select the brush tool while still on the "Fire Copy" layer. ![]() Step 19: Touch up the edges as needed. It will be different, pending on what font and text you used. ![]() _________________________________________ FINALLY. We're done! The finished project should match the one below besides the font/text you used, etc. ![]() _________________________________________ Thanks if you've read this far. As always, seeya til next time.[/b] Source: http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photoshop-text/text-effects/fire-text/ ~Spire RE: Spire ~ Fire Text - Spire_CnC - 02-18-2013 (02-18-2013, 04:21 AM)cash Wrote: Very nice and HQ good job bro!!! This is Photoshop CS5.5. No Adobe programs are free. You either have to watch a www.YouTube.com video on "Keygen for Photoshop CS5" or go to www.Thepiratebay.com and download a cracked version. But on topic: Thanks D and when you get photoshop I can teach you just about anything bud :p
RE: Spire ~ Fire Text - Flashdrive - 02-23-2013 I remember being a noob looking up how to do this with youtube videos and seeing horrible and cheesy results. Thanks for this share looks better than most tutorial out comes. |
