Blackphone - PLX-2M - 04-11-2016

Does anyone own or have experience with the Blackphone (by SGP Technologies)?

I am curious how practical and reliable it is.

If you have not heard of Blackphone, it is a hardened Android mobile device that out of the box comes with pre-loaded security and privacy focused software.

Ignore these shitposters. I reported them all.

Anyway, that phone is comparable to the Turing Phone in the sense that it is built with the focus on security.

The website took eternity to load for me, but I got this:

Quote:What is ZRTP?

ZRTP is a cryptographic key-agreement protocol to negotiate the keys for encryption between two end points in a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone telephony call based on the Real-time Transport Protocol. It uses Diffie–Hellman key exchange and the Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) for encryption. ZRTP stands for "Zimmermann Real-time Transport Protocol" and was developed by Silent Circle's own, Phil Zimmermann.
Sounds good, but it's built on "enhanced android operating system", and many other things are vague on their site. It's hard to know what they really mean imo.
This is from limited research. Their site is extremely slow.
this is a FAQ on many security features. read into it

They both have their pro's and con's. IMO I like the Turing Phone better. It looks better, plus it's built on an independent OS rather than a "Enhanced Android OS" . This will give them more options and freedom in the way of encryption and such. Android is more centralized with standards and stuff I think.

But on the website of the Turing phone, i didn't find much on their site in the way of security and encryption, mostly just durability of the phone itself.

End-to-end encryption. It runs Sailfish OS which is basically another Android ROM.
